今日（6月21日），本校校長陳永森率隊訪問泰國南部的宋卡王子大學，此次訪問由該校副校長Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot親自接待。宋卡王子大學一直是本校在國際合作中的重要夥伴，雙方在推動各項國際學術事務上付出了極大的努力。除了積極選派學生至本校應用物理系實習外，此次洽談的重點還在於推動新型專班（iSMART Program）的密切合作。該專班由本國教育部推動，旨在提升學術合作水平。目前，本校積極推動管理學院與宋卡王子大學在iSMART Program上的實質合作，這些學術連結將進一步加強雙方的友誼和合作關係。這次訪問，彰顯了兩校在國際教育和人才培育方面的共識和努力，並將學術教育提升到新的高度。
Today (June 21), our university's President Robert Chen led a delegation to visit Prince of Songkla University (PSU) in southern Thailand. The visit was personally hosted by PSU's Vice President, Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot. PSU has always been an important partner in our international collaborations, and both institutions have made significant efforts in advancing various international academic affairs. In addition to actively sending students to intern in our Department of Applied Physics, this visit also focused on promoting close cooperation in the new iSMART Program. Supported by our Ministry of Education, this program aims to enhance academic collaboration. Currently, our university is actively promoting substantial cooperation between our School of Management and PSU in the iSMART Program. These academic connections will further strengthen the friendship and collaborative relationship between the two institutions. This visit highlights the shared commitment and efforts of both universities in international education and talent cultivation, elevating academic education to a new height.

宋卡王子大學（PSU）成立於1967年，是泰國南部的第一所大學。其初衷是提升教育水平並支持區域發展。如今，PSU成為泰國頂尖的公立大學之一，以卓越的學術成就和創新研究聞名。該校在Quacquarelli Symonds排名中位列泰國前十，是九所國立研究型大學之一。PSU自豪於其在教學、研究和社區服務方面的突出貢獻，並持續培育高素質的畢業生。Prince of Songkla University (PSU), established in 1967, is the first university in southern Thailand. Its initial goal was to enhance education standards and support regional development. Today, PSU has become one of Thailand's top public universities, renowned for its academic excellence and innovative research. The university ranks among the top ten comprehensive universities in Thailand according to Quacquarelli Symonds and is one of the nine national research universities. PSU prides itself on its outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and community service, continually fostering high-quality graduates.

Its educational philosophy is rooted in progressivism, emphasizing the cultivation of students' ability to adapt to change through problem-solving and self-directed learning, achieving lifelong learning. PSU advocates learning through "progress through change," promoting active learning, problem-based and project-based learning, and service learning. This approach enables students to flexibly apply their knowledge in both academic and real-world settings. The university adheres to the guiding principle of "Our soul is for the benefit of mankind," dedicated to education and development.

會議中，本校校長陳永森表示，宋卡王子大學是本校重要的合作夥伴，雙方在國際學術事務上一直保持密切合作。陳校長特別指出，宋卡王子大學的教育理念強調進步主義和終身學習，這與本校的教育理念高度契合，值得我們學習和借鑒。他希望未來雙方能持續關注和推動教育議題，進一步深化合作，共同努力，促進雙方的共同進步。During the meeting, our university's President Robert Chen expressed that Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is an important partner in our international collaborations, and both institutions have maintained close cooperation in international academic affairs. President Chen particularly noted that PSU's educational philosophy, which emphasizes progressivism and lifelong learning, highly aligns with our own educational values, making it a model worth learning from and emulating. He hopes that both universities will continue to focus on and promote educational issues, further deepening cooperation and working together for mutual advancement.

宋卡王子大學副校長Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot對此表示贊同，並指出宋卡王子大學的工程學系、生物工程及科學等相關學系，具有很大的合作潛力。他期待通過這些合作，不僅能進一步提升雙方的學術水平，還能促進國際教育的發展。他強調，這些合作將為兩校的師生帶來更多的交流機會，並加深雙方在學術研究與教育上的聯繫。Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President of Prince of Songkla University, expressed his agreement and pointed out that PSU's departments of engineering, bioengineering, and sciences have great potential for cooperation. He anticipates that through these collaborations, not only will the academic standards of both institutions be further enhanced, but international education will also be promoted. He emphasized that these partnerships will provide more exchange opportunities for faculty and students of both universities, and deepen the ties in academic research and education.
 

此外，陳校長還強調，兩校的合作不僅限於學生交換和實習計劃，雙方現正洽談推動雙聯學位的合作，並探討更多共同學術研究項目等多方面的合作。這次訪問，不僅鞏固了雙方的合作關係，還為未來的深入合作奠定了更堅實的基礎。特別值得一提的是，本校也在積極尋求將雙聯學位拓展為臺灣、泰國和法國的3聯學位合作的機會。這種三邊合作將大幅提升學生的國際視野和競爭力，並促進三國之間的學術和文化交流。這種國際合作，不僅提升了雙方的學術水平，也促進了國際教育的發展，對人才培育具有深遠的意義。通過這樣的合作，我們期待培養出更多具有國際視野和專業能力的優秀人才，為全球社會發展作出貢獻。In addition, President Chen also emphasized that the cooperation between the two universities is not limited to student exchanges and internship programs. Both sides are currently discussing the promotion of dual degree programs and exploring various collaborative academic research projects. This visit not only strengthened the partnership between the two universities but also laid a more solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation. It is particularly noteworthy that our university is actively seeking opportunities to expand the dual degree program into a triple degree cooperation among Taiwan, Thailand, and France. This trilateral cooperation will significantly enhance students' international perspectives and competitiveness, as well as promote academic and cultural exchanges among the three countries. Such international cooperation not only elevates the academic standards of both institutions but also advances the development of international education, having a profound impact on talent cultivation. Through this cooperation, we aim to cultivate more outstanding talents with international vision and professional capabilities, contributing to the development of global society.

此次泰國出訪行程中，我們拜會了5所泰國北部及南部的大學並訪視了3所泰北的高中。在此期間，收穫豐碩。本校一直致力於參與國際事務，希望讓更多國家看到臺灣，看到國立屏東大學的多樣風貌與卓越成就。這次的訪問進一步加強了我們與泰國的聯繫，為未來的合作奠定了更堅實的基礎。During our visit to Thailand, we met with six universities in the northern and southern regions and visited three high schools in northern Thailand. This trip has been highly fruitful. Our university has always been committed to participating in international affairs, aiming to showcase Taiwan and National Pingtung University's diverse attributes and outstanding achievements to more countries. This visit has further strengthened our ties with Thailand, laying a more solid foundation for future cooperation.

國立屏東大學將不斷邁向國際舞台，積極拓展全球合作與交流。我們將持續推動國際教育與研究合作，不僅限於現有的姊妹校合作關係，還將尋求更多潛在的合作機會，促進文化交流與知識共享。我們的目標是培養具有國際視野的優秀人才，提升學術水平，並為世界各地的社會發展作出貢獻。National Pingtung University will continue to advance on the international stage, actively expanding global cooperation and exchange. We will persist in promoting international education and research collaboration, not only within our existing sister school relationships but also by seeking more potential partnerships to foster cultural exchange and knowledge sharing.
