To promote international academic collaboration and creative exchange in digital filmmaking, we at National Pingtung University (NPTU), together with our Thai sister school, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU), jointly held the "2025 BSRU Microfilm Production Workshop" from June 2 to 19, 2025. Combining theory and practice through both online and in-person sessions, the workshop attracted enthusiastic participation from BSRU students, showcasing the strong partnership between the two institutions in the field of film education.
The first week featured online classes led by Professors Li, Shyue-Ran, Mou, Tsai-Yun, and Liu, Huai-Wei, introducing students to core concepts such as microfilm fundamentals, script development, storyboard design, composition, and color theory—laying a solid foundation for subsequent practical work. Beginning June 9, BSRU students arrived in Pingtung for two weeks of intensive hands-on training. The in-person curriculum covered camera operations, green screen techniques, video editing, post-production, and visual effects. Evening sessions were dedicated to project-based mentoring, helping students refine their creative direction and filming techniques. Working in teams, students carried out every stage of microfilm production—from concept and filming to editing and post-production—culminating in a final showcase on June 19 that left a strong impression on both faculty and peers.
Beyond the classroom, students visited the Donggang King Boat Museum and the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, experiencing Taiwan’s religious heritage and marine culture. The workshop not only improved students’ filmmaking abilities but also deepened cultural ties and educational collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand.
