加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處副主任 Mr. Jordan Turley於2月19日拜訪國立屏東大學，由陳永森校長親自接待，進行了一場富有成效的交流訪問。此次訪問的重點是介紹分享加拿大提供的各類獎助學金機會，並鼓勵更多台灣學子參與加拿大的高等教育與文化交流。
國立屏東大學的校長及相關教學單位的師長也代表出席會議，其中國際事務處處長陳皇州教授在會議中向來賓詳細介紹了學校的發展歷程、學術優勢及國際合作項目。他強調，屏東大學自創校以來，一直致力於推動國際化發展，並與全球多所高等院校建立了穩固的合作關係，為學生提供豐富的國際交流機會。

在會議中，加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處副主任 Mr. Jordan Turley詳細介紹了加拿大高等教育的優勢以及不同層級的獎學金計畫，包括大學生、研究生及博士生的獎學金項目。他們強調，加拿大的教育體系以其創新、包容性及高水準的學術研究而聞名，並且提供多樣化的獎助學金，幫助國際學生減輕學費負擔，進一步推動國際學生的學術發展。

On February 19, Mr. Jordan Turley, Deputy Director of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, visited National Pingtung University (NPTU) and was welcomed by President Robert Y.S. Chen. The visit focused on promoting Canadian scholarship programs and encouraging Taiwanese students to pursue higher education and cultural exchange in Canada.

During the meeting, Professor Kelvin H.-C. Chen, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, introduced NPTU's development and international partnerships, highlighting the university's commitment to global engagement. Mr. Turley outlined Canada's strengths in higher education and presented scholarship opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.

加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處秘書Ms. Sylvia Shih特別介紹了臺家雙邊人才研習計畫，包含全球鏈結研究實習（Globalink Research Internship）、全球鏈結研究獎學金（Globalink Research Award）及其他針對國際學生的資助方案。這些獎學金涵蓋了學費、生活費等各項支出，並且適用於不同學術領域和研究方向的學生。

此次加拿大代表處的參訪對學生們而言是一個難得的機會，能夠直接了解並申請各種獎助學金，進一步促進台灣與加拿大在教育領域的合作。屏東大學將積極鼓勵學校師生參與加拿大的學術交流計畫，並為有興趣的學生提供更多相關資源和支持。

Ms. Sylvia Shih, Secretary of the Canadian Trade Office, further introduced bilateral programs such as the Globalink Research Internship and Globalink Research Award, which provide funding for tuition, living expenses, and research across diverse disciplines.
For NPTU students, the visit was a valuable opportunity to learn directly about scholarship options and application procedures, further enhancing educational cooperation between Taiwan and Canada. NPTU will actively encourage its faculty and students to participate in Canadian academic exchange programs and will provide additional resources and support for interested applicants.

此外，加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處副主任Mr. Jordan Turley還特別指出，加拿大對來自台灣的國際學生持開放態度，並且歡迎更多來自台灣的優秀學生選擇加拿大作為進一步學習的目的地。他們強調，加拿大的多元文化環境、世界一流的教育品質及其對學生生活的重視，將為國際學生提供一個極佳的學術成長平台。

Mr. Turley further emphasized Canada’s welcoming stance toward students from Taiwan and expressed the hope that more talented Taiwanese students will choose Canada as their study destination. He highlighted Canada’s multicultural environment, world-class education system, and strong support for student life, which together provide an excellent platform for academic and personal growth.

This visit not only deepened cooperation between Canada and NPTU but also built stronger bridges for educational exchange between the two sides. Such initiatives are expected to continue opening new academic and career opportunities for NPTU students.
